The Black and White series began at Pegasus Theatre in 1986 as Artistic Director Kurt Kleinmann developed a technique for capturing the look and feel of an old black and white movie — live and onstage! Since then, Pegasus Theatre audiences have enjoyed a series of black-and-white productions that chronicle the misadventures of the bumbling but well-intentioned gumshoe, Harry Hunsacker, as he applies his meager talents to the world of crime. Immerse yourself in a world of black and white celluloid! The visual effect astonishes, as the makeup, costumes, lights, sets, and props create a two-dimensional world before your very eyes. It's a living, breathing B-movie—the look, the sound, the style, all mimic an era of American filmmaking that is quickly fading into history.
